An international scientific conference in the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. The conference will last for 2.5 days. The first late afternoon will take place in the main conference room and will be dedicated to speeches of important political and diplomatic figures and concluded by two main synthetic papers given by a Czech historian and a Slovak historian. On the following day, the conference will proceed in sections. The programme will chronologically cover the period from the 19th century (the conditions for emergence of Czechoslovak statehood) until the end of the 20th century, i.e. establishment of the successor states of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. The conference will be concluded by a round table discussion on the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic as the successor states of Czechoslovakia. The conference will result in a reviewed monograph on a high professional level with the latest outcomes of scientific research.
